Dear Papa

Dear Papa,

I can't believe you have been gone from this world over a year now. Sometimes I play the night we got that horrible phone call over and over in my head, but I have to accept it. I know you were in so much pain these last few years. I know you wanted to be at my wedding & stay on this Earth longer. I wish you didn't have to leave so soon. We are taking care of Granny for you and I KNOW you are in heaven watching down on us.
I've been wanting to write you a letter because I found a picture on my phone of you reading a note at Aunt Beas that me or mama wrote to you. She would always write you little notes, but she could talk to you & you would always understand her. (She's pretty loud;)) So it hit me that I miss writing little things to you. I have so much I wished I would've told you. I loved when you would see any of your kids, grandkids, sisters, brother & friends and you always had the biggest smile & either kissed them or shook their hand. I love that about you. I look up to you just like ALL of your grandkids. We will always look up to you. I loved how you were so content with life. I wished you didn't lose your hearing so early in your life. I know that was hard on you. Some days with 6 kids & 11 grandchildren you were probably happy that you couldn't hear us all. I bet you can hear now. I 'm sure that was such a beautiful thing.
Well I got chickens and ducks now, and I can see you smiling now. They drive me crazy but I love watching them. Some days I just sit and watch them & always end up thinking of you & Andy. Granny thinks its the funniest thing. So I love calling & telling her about just so I can hear her laugh. Wes got some too! We all miss you so much. Every family get together is hard, but we all keep it together for granny. I've been getting some brownie points ;)
I know you want us to be happy. I have been reading in the bible more since that awful night. & I can say I'm much closer with the Lord because I can feel him and I see how much you loved him. I thank you for being the best role model. I wish I could have more days with you. I know mama & everyone feels the same. Please keep watching over us. WE love you!!

I love you, Papa. I'll write you soon.
                                                             Love Always, Kurstin

The day I got married.

So I'm Mrs. Boles now. I'm still getting use to that. We've been married almost SIX months now. I really can't believe it. I've been wanting to blog about our special day for a while, but I kept putting it off because I didn't know how I was going to share our special day in 1 post.

But here it goes…

As you know in my last blog post that my sweet papa passed away 2 days before our wedding day. So honestly all of the details, flowers, food, etc. just didn't matter. All I wanted to do was to marry Ethan. And it was the happiest day of my life thanks to Ethan, my amazing family, friends, photographer, videographer & the wedding planner!

I've been dreaming of this day since I was a little girl. When I met Ethan for the first time in 6th grade I had butterflies like crazy. He had the prettiest eyes & the sexiest smile :) I fell in love. I mean I was only 12 but I did. Call me crazy. I didn't give up on him and now he is my husband so I will never give up on him. Mmm my husband. I love when I say that :)

The wedding was unreal. It was seriously the prettiest day. The sky was so blue. I think my papa had something to do with that. I knew my papa wasn't suffering anymore and he could hear and thats what made the day so much better. The morning of the wedding was when my nerves started to set in. But I was surrounded by my family and Ethan was determined I was going to have a good day. He had a vanity set up, my favorite snack & a sweet note waiting for me when I arrived at our house to get ready.

I'm not going to lie..some of the parts of the day were a blur. But it was truly a happy day that I will always cherish. We got our married at our church Shoals Baptist (Ethan grew up going there) Tommy Martin married us. He's an amazing pastor & a hard working man. Our reception was at Horne Creek Farm just down the road from the church! The staff there was very helpful!

Here are some photos by our amazing photographer, Jordan Brannock.

You are my sunshine Mr. Boles

Ethan & I decided to write each other letters.

I'll always  be daddy's little girl.

The reception was so fun. Everyone was right when they told me it will fly by! I pretty much stayed on the dance floor the whole time. Thanks to the awesome DJ who made it so fun!

My sweet & crazy friend, Nicole came all the way from Texas! So happy I met her in NY.

LOVE Julia. Her & Jarrod drove from NYC. So blessed to know them!!

The wedding planner, Todd Anderson.

Love these 2!

Happy Day.

Marriage has been really fun! At the beginning I was scared & worried I wasn't going to be a good wife. But with God in the center of our marriage I know we can make it through anything. I thank God for Ethan & my family everyday. There were so many emotions in that weekend, but Ethan stayed by my side the whole time. I know he will always be here for me & I will always be there for  him. We are a team now. I know we will have some ups & downs. But I couldn't imagine arguing with anyone else;) I LOVE YOU MR. BOLES. This post is for you.
